SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued A.D. 222, Rome mint, (2.98 g), obv. laureate bust to right, draped and cuirassed, around IMP C M AVR SEV ALEXAND AVG, rev. P M TR P II COS P P, Jupiter standing left holding thunderbolt and sceptre, (cf.S.7891, RIC 19, RSC 229, BMC 870. Toned with attractive golden highlights, extremely fine.
