CARIA, Satraps of, Maussollos, (377-353 B.C.), silver drachm (3.44 g), obv. three-quarter facing head of Apollo wearing laurel wreath, head turned slightly right, rev. Zeus Labraundos standing right, holding double axe (labrys) and lotus-tipped sceptre, ME monogram to left, name **MAUSSWLL[O]* to right, (S.4956, SNG von Aulock 2365, SNG Helsinki 276, SNG Kayhan 874, SNG Cop, 591). Toned, extremely fine/good very fine and very rare.

A similar example in CNG Triton VI, 13 January 2003 (lot 416) realised $2000.
