George Orson Welles (1915-85) was an actor, director of film and theatre, screenwriter and producer. He is widely acknowledged as one of the most accomplished dramatic actors of the twentieth century with one of his most famous works being Citizen Kane in which he starred and also wrote the screen play for which he won the Academy Award in 1941.
