Peter, Westminster On Wednesday, the 12th day of May, 1937 (2 books, one with G.S.Knowles pencilled at inside corner of front cover and one with Ella L.Knowles, Ellanshaw, Canberra A.C.T penned on inside of front cover); The Coronation Of Their Majesties King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Official Souvenir Programme, includes details of official parties, genealogical table showing the descent of the crown, and several b&w photos; The Ceremonies to be observed at the Royal Coronation large booklets (2, one with G.S.Knowles penned at top left corner of front cover, the other with E.L.K. penned at top left corner of front cover and Ella L.Knowles, Canberra, A.C.T. penned at top left corner of first page and some handwritten notes and underlining throughout); official large cardboard ticket to Westminster Abbey Coronation for Mrs G.Knowles, with map on reverse, in an official envelope from the Earl Marshall's Office and addressed to G.S.Knowles Esq. C.B.E. J.P., Australia House; booklet of Notes for the Guidance of Guests proceeding by car to Westminster Abbey; other notes and newspaper cutting and also a 10 foolscap page typed account of G.S.Knowles C.B.E. and Lady Knowles activities from 11 May - 16 May 1937; A Portfolio Of Selfridge's Decorations For The Coronation, a magnificent large book featuring images in colour and black and white and including a large fold-out coloured image showing a general view of the Oxford Street frontage of the famous Selfridge's store decorated in celebration of the Coronation. Some foxing and age toning but a magnificent history of the 1937 Coronation, fine - very fine. (lot)
