PALESTINE, Roman Procurator of Judaea, Pontius Pilate, under Tiberius, (A.D. 26-36), copper prutah, (2.25 g), obv. lituus surrounded by Greek inscription, representing [TIBE]PIOY KAICAP[OC], rev. date within wreath, LIH = year 18 = A.D.31, (S.5623, H.1343, Meshorer 231, AJC Supplement V, No.24). Light earthern patina, very fine and a very clear date reading.

Of great Biblical interest, this date being also associated with Christ's crucifixion.
