AUGUSTUS, (15-13 B.C.), silver denarius, Lugdunum Mint, (3.68 g), obv. Augustus head to right, around DIVI.F AVGVST[VS], rev. IMP X to left & right of Apollo Citharoedus, in long drapery, standing to left, right hand holds plectrum and left hand a lyre, ACT in exergue, (S.1611, RSC 144, BMC 461, RIC 171a, Ashmolean 127-133). Fine and rare.
Ex Dr V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 107 (lot 3662) and also coming from an old Hungarian collection.
