CILICIA, Kelenderis, silver stater, c.450 B.C., (10.88 g), obv. naked rider with whip in his left hand seated sideways on horse prancing to left from which he is about to dismount, A below, dotted border, rev. goat kneeling to left, looking back, above KEA, dotted exergue line, (S.5527, SNG France 47 [same dies], cf.SNG Levante 18, cf.BMC 5). Good very fine, with attractive medium grey patina, rare.
