FRANCE, Battle of Verdun, (1917), in bronze (36mm), by S.E.Vernier, obverse, helmeted bust of Maryanne facing right with sword in right hand, reverse, the Port Chausee in Verdun with fronds at either side, in the exergue '21 Fevrier (February) 1916' (starting date for the Battle of Verdun), edge stamped Bronze and with a cornucopia mint mark. A few very minor edge nicks, otherwise very fine.
