FRANCE, Mle. 1874 Gras bayonet in steel (blade 52.2cm), back of blade engraved, 'Mre d'Armes de Chat Avril 1882' (Manufacturer of Arms of Chatellerault April 1882), with half wooden grip and brass pommel with press-catch fitting for rifle, ricasso stamped on one side, 'SRB' with each letter incuse, the last two with border, and on the opposite side, '3', the guard stamped, 'AC 29761' and the steel scabbard stamped, 'AC 749' and also with the incuse bordered letters, 'RB', as on the ricasso, the top lay over edge of the scabbard stamped, '7B'. Very fine.
