William Albert Wilson on first medal, L-9865 L.Cpl W.A.Wilson E.Surr.R. on second medal, 9865 Pte. W.A.Wilson. E.Surr.R. on third and fourth medals, last medal unnamed. Display mounted, not in correct order, very fine.

Together with King's Silver War badge; East Surrey Regt hat badge (KC); 2nd XI. R.A.T.A. (Royal Army Temperance Association) Football Competition prize fob in silver and enamel, marked for Birmingham 1913 by maker 'W.A (William Adams Ltd), reverse inscribed, '2/East Surrey Regt./Runners Up/1914/9865. L/Cpl J.Wilson'; large certificate from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs awarding the Medal of Honour in Bronze with Swords to Sergeant William Wilson, 2/22 Bn, London Regt attached to 7th (Indian) Divisional Signal Coy, dated 22 July 1920; cases for Imperial Service Medal, and French Medal of Honour.

Medal card shows that William A.Wilson served in East Surrey Regt L/9865; The Queen's Regt L/11902 and London Regt L/11902, all as L/Cpl. After serving in the war, William Albert Wilson was appointed as a Male Telegraphist at London (LG 2/9/1921, p6959).
