THESSALY, Larissa, (c.380-350 B.C.), silver drachm, (6.17 g), obv. the hero Thessalos to left with chlamys flying from him, restraining bull by hands his petasos falling to ground below, dotted border, rev. bridled horse prancing to left, **LARI/SAIA* above in two lines, (cf.S.2111, Lorber p.24 Group III L, Pl.IV,3, BCD Thessaly II 370.2 (same dies), HGC 4, 422 [same dies, R2]). Toned, nearly very fine and very rare.

Ex BCD Collection, previously bought in 1988 for 25000 drachmas with ticket and photos.
