SCOTLAND, Lauderdale Agricultural Society, 1879, in silver (39mm), with scroll suspension, reverse inscribed, 'Thomas Neilans/New Mills/2nd Prize/Yeld Draught Mare'. Toned, extremely fine.

A Yeld draught mare is the name given to a mare that, although mature enough to have done so, has not yet given birth to a foal.
