GREAT EXHIBITION, Crystal Palace 1851, Prize Medal, in bronze (77mm) by W. Wyon, obverse, conjoined busts of Victoria and Albert left, two dolphins below, reverse, Britannia seated right crowning Industria, figures representing Africa, America, Asia and Europe attending, edge engraved 'Prize Medal of the Exhibition - Major Pratt Class VII' (Eimer 1456, BHM 2462). With edge nicks, cabinet friction, nearly extremely fine.

Class VII - Civil Engineering, Architecture and Building Contrivances.
Major Pratt, inventor - moveable flight of steps for tidal rivers and self-acting trap for street drains.
