OLIVER CROMWELL, Lord Protector, 1653, cast and chased in silver (37mm) by Thomas Simon (15.66g), obv. Oliver Cromwell, Lord Protector, in an armoured and draped bust to left. rev. Lion holding arms of Cromwell and the Commonwealth (MIi,409/45; Lessen (1977) 114-26; Eimer 188). Toned extremely fine, rare.
