USA, NEW ENGLAND AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY, 1890, in silver (48mm), by W.H.Key, reverse inscribed, 'Brown & Simpson/Piano/at/New England Fair/Worcester Mass./1890'. Some pitting, heavily toned, otherwise good fine.

The firm of Brown & Simpson was established in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1880 by Theodore P.Brown and his partner, a man named Simpson. In 1882 it became The Brown & Simpson Piano Company. It was a relatively small piano manufacturing company specialising in square grand, upright and baby grand pianos. The square pianos were discontinued in about 1890. They stopped producing pianos in about 1910 but continued in business building Simplex, push-up style piano players.
