USA, MAJ GENL W.H.HARRISON Presidential campaign hard times token, 1840, in brass (23mm) (De Witt WHH-1840-54), holed at top edge; The 100th Anniversary of American Independence, Great International Exhibition, Fairmont Park, Philadelphia, 1876, in walnut timber (62mm), obverse, George Washington head right. Very fine - nearly extremely fine. (2)

The George Washington medal was heat pressed onto walnut timber discs by the Ornamental Wood Company of Philadelphia at the exhibition in the Machinery Hall. It was part of a 6-piece set comprising different medal designs and sizes all struck in timber.
