BORNEO, (Malaysia, Brunei), brass cannon money, 365mm, 2260 grams, diameter 24-59mm, late 19th century early 20th century, with double fish handle on top and a holding lug underneath, used for trading purposes, barter of goods, payment of fines and in engagement and wedding ceremonies (Opitz [2000 edn.] p.100 as illustrated). Extremely fine, very rare this large and in this condition.
