GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), AE sestertius, Rome mint, 5th officina, 10th emission, issued 242, (20.28 g), obv. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, laureate draped and cuirassed bust to right of Gordian III, rev. P M TR P V COS II P P, Apollo seated left holding branch resting hand on lyre, SC in exergue, (cf.S.8732, RIC 303a, C.262). Attractive green patina, tooling in reverse field, nearly very fine.
