L. CENSORINUS WITH P. Crepusius and C.Limetanus, (82 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.89 g), obv. Venus diademed and veiled bust to right, L. CENSORIN behind, rev. Venus in biga galloping to right, XXXVII above, C.LIMETA below, P. CREPVSI in exergue, (S.284, Cr.360/1b, Syd.736a, B.Marcia 27). Attractively toned, nearly extremely fine and rare.

The moneyer P. Crepusius is not known, L. Censorinus is presumably the father of L. Marcius Censorinus, Consul in 39 B.C., and, if he was not proscribed, may be identified with the Censorinus attested as Legate in 70 B.C. C. Limetanus is presumably the son of C. Mamilius Limetanus a tribune of the Plebs in 109 B.C.
