Ernest L'Estrange Lord, 'rough rider' stockman at Eskdale Station, Esk via Ipswich, age 18, born at Brisbane, Qld; Enl.09Nov1915 at Brisbane, noted 3 years service with Cadets, and posted to 2nd Aust Remount Unit, 8 Sqn; Emb.20Nov1915; served at Field Remount Section at Rafa, Moascar, Egypt; L/Cpl 11Feb1918; fractured left rib whilst playing football match against the Flying Corps at Abbassia on 30Dec1918 when he stooped to kick up a ball and at the same time a Flying Corps player kicked at it and accidentally kicked Lord in the ribs; RTA and Disemb.01Sep1919; Disch.25Oct1919; Enl.27Jun1942 to 29th (Qld) Bn, VDC; Disch.21Oct1945 as Private ex 9Bn VDC.
