MACEDON, Kingdom of, Antigonos Gonatas, silver tetradrachm, 277-239 B.C., (17.15 g), obv. Pan's head to left, with pedium on shoulder, all within Macedonian shield, rev. Athena Alkidemos advancing to left, with thunderbolt and shield, Macedonian helmet in field to left, HP monogram to left, to right **BASILEWS*, to left **ANTIGONOU*, (S.6783, SNG Berry 354, cf.SNG Cop. 1200, Touratsoglou 20). Extremely fine and very rare variant with monogram in left field.
