EASTERN EUROPE AND MIDDLE EAST ISLAMIC WEIGHT, 7th-12th Century, a polyhedral shaped weight with 6 square faces and 8 triangular faces, 28 mm x 29 mm, large bronze unmarked half ratl (6 ounces of Byzantine scale), weight (160 g); (Munz Zentrum Sale XLV (25.11.81) lot 151 a similar weight realised 260DM). Traces of Arabic script and marks. Brown earthen patina with some original metal showing through, fine - very fine and rare.
