SYRIA - PHOENICIA, haematite weight for half a shekel or maybe 10 giru (Shraga Qedar attributes as 15-11th century B.C.), or 900 B.C. or earlier (Malter), 17x9mm, weight (3.89 g), made in the form of a cylinder with bulging centre, holed for carrying a later innovation (Munz Zentrum XLV, November 25, 1981 [lot 33]); another similar haematite weight as a circular stone shape with thick centre (18mm diameter 8mm thickness), weight (3.32 g), could be a light half shekel or more likely a 10 giru weight (Munz Zentrum XLV, November 25, 1981 [lot 34 similar]). Fine - very fine, very scarce. (2)
