CARUS, (A.D. 282-283), Tripolis mint, billon antoninianus, (3.84 g), obv. IMP C M AVR CARVS P F AVG, radiate draped and cuirassed bust to right, rev. around VIRTVS AVGG, XXI in exergue, T R above, Emperor standing to right, holding sceptre, receiving globe from Jupiter (or Carinus), (S.12189, RIC 128). Slight surface adhesion, but not detracting from the coin, otherwise nearly extremely fine/good very fine and scarce.
