CLODIUS ALBINUS, (A.D. 195-197), silver denarius, Rome mint issued A.D. 194, (3.31 g), obv. bare head of Clodius Albinus to right, around D CLOD SEPT ALBIN CAES, rev. around MINER PA CIF CO[S II], Minerva standing to left holding spear shield and olive branch, (S.6144, BMC 98, RIC 7, RSC 48). Dark grey patina, good very fine/very fine and very scarce.

Ex D.J.Foster Collection and previously from Spink Noble Sale 43 (lot 1973).
