CRISPINA, wife of Commodus, (m. A.D.177), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued 180-2, (2.84 g), obv. draped bust to right of Crispina with hair bound up behind head, around CRISPINA AVGVSTA, rev. HILARITAS around, Hilaritas standing to left, holding long palm and cornucopiae, (S.6000, RIC 282, RSC 18). Good very fine and scarce.

Ex D.J.Foster Collection and acquired from the Superior Stamp and Coin Company, Beverly Hills, California, August 13, 1995 Auction (lot 832) and that coming from the Dr. John Jacobs Collection.
The Reka-Devnia hoard contained 596 coins of Crispina and 47 coins of this variety.
