LUCIUS VERUS, (A.D. 161-169), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 163, (21.70 g), obv. laureate headed cuirassed bust of Lucius Verus, to right, around IMP CAES L AVREL VERVS AVG, rev. around FELIC AVG TR P III, COS II in exergue, SC across, ship with pilot and rowers to left, with mast and sail, (S.5368, RIC 1327, C.72). Weak reverse legends, otherwise fine and very scarce.

Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 78 (lot 5164), lot includes old tickets from Max Kiehn of Koln, Germany as purchased on Sept. 1, 1919 for 3.50 marks.
