VITELLIUS, (A.D. 69), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 69, (3.22 g), obv. laureate head of Vitellius to right, around [A V]ITELLIVS GER[MANICVS IMP], rev. Victory draped and seated to left, holding patera and palm, (S.2202, RIC 71, BMC 4). Attractive and strong portrait, weakness in legend and porosity on the reverse, otherwise good very fine/nearly fine and rare.

Ex D.J.Foster Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 49 (lot 2175).
