CALIGULA, (Gaius), (A.D. 37-41), silver denarius, Lugdunum (Lyons) mint, issued A.D. 37-38, (3.32 g), obv. bare head of Caligula to right, around C CAESAR AVG GERM P M TR POT, rev. around DIVVS AVG PATER PATRIAE, radiate head to right of Augustus, (S.1809, RIC 10 (R2), BMC 10). Very porous surface, good very fine and very rare.

Ex D.J.Foster Collection and previously from Spink Noble Sale 48 (lot 3014).
