THE HIGHLAND SOCIETY'S MEDAL FOR EGYPT 1801, in silver (49mm), a tribute medal to the 42nd Regiment by G F Pidgeon, obverse, bust of Lieutenant-General Sir Ralph Abercromby right, reverse (after Benjamin West), Highlander with sword drawn, captures the standard of the French Imperial Legion, Gaelic legend, engraved Gaelic inscription on edge (BHM 512; Eimer 932). Edge nicks and bump, fine.
