MARINIANA, wife of Valerian I, (c.253 A.D.), base silver antoninianus, issued c. 253-260 A.D., Rome Mint, 3.13 grams, RIC 6, C.16, Cunetio Hoard 643 (63 spec.), Obv. Diademed and veiled bust, draped to r. of Mariniana, all on crescent, around DIVAE MARINIANAE, Rev. CONSECRATIO, around, peacock flying to r., carrying empress to heaven. Rough edge, with mint bloom, otherwise extremely fine and rare as such, (476).
