MAXIMUS I, (235-238 A.D.), silver denarius, issued 236-238 A.D., Rome Mint, 3.20 grams, RIC 3, BMC 211-2, C.10, Obv. Bare head bust of Maximus to r. draped and seen slightly from behind, MAXIMVS CAES GERM, Rev. PRINC IVVENTVTIS around, Maximus in military dress, standing half left holding baton and transverse spear with point downwards; to r. two standards. Some mint lustre, nearly uncirculated and very rare as such, (331).
