FIELDINGS, Merchant and Importer, Boulia, Queensland, uniface five shillings note, dated 31 August 1937, numbered 4838, signed, an IOU in white behind green note using black ink, (type illustrated Vort Ronald..Shinplaster..p.47). Many folds, and edge tears, about fine and extremely rare.
Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 63 (lot 3037). Various other notes and denominations are known for this merchant, but this example appears to be a new note previously unrecorded. A selection of higher denomination notes were sold in Spink Noble Sale 36 (lots 2728-2730).
