PRIVATE TRADER'S NOTE, George Shenton, one pound, Perth, undated, no number, 18- (C.1865) on thin watermarked paper, unsigned but an issue of George Shenton (cf. Nicholson lot 1634). As issued, extremely fine and rare.

G.Shenton Jnr. later became first mayor of Perth and a prominent politician. A very detailed description accompanies the lot.
