VAN DIEMEN'S LAND, promissory note, John Lepine, ten shillings, Hobart Town, 3rd July 1823 No.4 (note mentioned in Vort Ronald Colonial Currency & Promissory Notes p.92 and cf Pettit Collection, lot 2873). Repaired in halves on backing paper, otherwise very good.
Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 75 (lot 2954) and previously from the Stewart Burton Collection (from Downie's Sale 167, lot 111, 21 June 1983).
