CANADA, Queen Victoria, unofficial pattern dollar, dated 1901, crowned and veiled old head left, by Donald R. Golding, proofs in 925 silver, copper and aluminium bronze. FDC. (120)

There was no silver dollar coins produced for Canada in the early years of the 20th century, although excessively rare patterns exist in silver and lead dated 1911. The reverse design of the sets of modern pattern pieces offerd here are very similar to the 1911 coins, although the traditional 'old head' portrait of Victoria, adapted by Golder never featured on Canadian coins. Total mintage 550 sets.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price.
