RAAF POW LETTER, WOFF J.D.Garland, sent from Stalagluft III to Mrs W.H.Garland (his mother) at Gymea Bay, some parts censored amd marked 'Opened By Censor', postmarked 23.9.44; Annual Ball invitation from R.A.A.D.C. (Royal Australian Army Dental Corps) to Major Gen G.Maitland OBE, for 27 Septmeber 1957; ticket card for Royal Aust. Army Dental Corps 21st Anniversary Ball 19 August 1964; WWII colour patch for 2/5 Commando Squadron. Fine - extremely fine. (4)
WOFF Jack Douglas Garland 403186 RAAF, was taken POW when Lancaster W139 crashed over Germany 27 Aug 1942. He was interred at Stalagluft II, a POW camp for flying officers. The camp was located at Sagan, one hundred miles southeast of Berlin and was under the command of the Luftwaffe.
