QUEEN VICTORIA, young head, proof or pattern crown, 1839, plain edge (S.3882, ESC 279). Beautiful iridescent blue and grey toning, minor graffiti scratches at 7.00 on reverse, otherwise nearly FDC and very rare.

The 3 in the date 1839 has been overstruck on a previous miss-aligned 3.
