Dioscuri on horseback to right, L.IVLI below, [ROMA] in exergue, (S.100, Cr.224/1, Syd.443); Gordian III, (A.D. 238-244), silver antoninianus, Rome mint, issued 241-3, (3.99 g), obv. radiate bust right, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. IOVI STATORI with Jupiter standing facing resting on sceptre holding thunderbolt, (S.8615, RIC 84, RSC 109). Even grey patina, good very fine and rare, second coin very fine. (2)
Only 27 obverse dies used for this L.Julius coinage according to Crawford.
