IONIA, Teos, (470/465-439/5 B.C.), silver stater, (11.81 g), obv. Griffin seated to right with raised foreleg, around T H IO N, grape bunch with leaf below forepaw, rev. incuse square of rough form, (cf.S.4576, Balcer [SNR 1968, Vol.47], No.,102 [A-/P134] = Jameson 1517 same reverse die). Obverse weak in places, otherwise nearly extremely fine and very rare.

Ex Alan Jordan Collection and purchased from Noble Numismatics Sale 79 (lot 3230).
