THRACE, Maroneia, (c.189 - 145 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.18 g), obv. head of young Dionysos to right, wreathed with ivy and band across forehead, rev. Dionysos naked standing to left, holding grapes and two narthex wands, to right **[D]IONUSOU*, to left **[S]WTHROS, below **MAPWNITW[N], monograms to left and right below, (cf.S.1635, Schonert-Geiss 1094/3, cf.Hunter 20). Large flan, attractive style, nearly extremely fine and rare.
