PAEONIA, Kingdom of, Patraos, (c.340-315 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (12.16 g), obv. head of Apollo to right, with laureate, rev. horseman right spearing fallen enemy, who holds spear and shield, around below **[PAT]RAOU, M above right, (S.1520, Paeonian Hoard 198-203 [same dies]). Obverse slightly off centred, otherwise good very fine and a scarce type.

Ex Alan Jordan Collection and purchased from Noble Numismatics Sale 79 (lot 3210), coming from the Paeonian Hoard, and from Antiquarius, New Zealand, December 1983. The Sotheby's, London, 16th April 1969 sale contained the Paeonian Hoard and some more were sold in December 9, 1969 at Parke-Bernet Galleries, New York.
