SICILY, Gela, (c. 490-480 B.C.), silver didrachm, (8.61 g), obv. naked horseman to right wearing crested helmet, galloping right brandishing spear held high in his hand, rev. man headed bull to right with long beard, to right and below **GELA*, (S.713, Jenkins Group I, 8 (obv 5, rev. 4), Hirmer [Pl.42]). Lightly toned, some minor surface pitting on obverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine.
