FRANCE, Carol de Secondat Baro de Montesquieu, 1753, in bronze (60mm) by Jacques Dassier, son of Jean Dassier, obverse, high relief bust left, reverse, Espirit des Loix and the figure of Justice. Good very fine.

Described by Forrer Volume 1, page 511 as 'probably the artist's masterpiece'.
