USA, 1948 S BOOKER T. Washington Memorial commemorative silver half dollar. Brilliant, uncirculated.
In a slab by Smart Collect as MS64. Mintage was 8,005. The issue commemorates the ideals and teachings of Booker T. Washington. Issued from all mints from 1946-1951 it received wide spread distribution from the start. The obverse has his portrait and the reverse shows his log-cabin his birthplace. The total issue exceeded 1.6 million.
