USA, 1938 NEW ROCHELLE, New York, 250th anniversary commemorative silver half dollar. Brilliant, uncirculated.

In a slab by PCGS as MS66. Mintage was 15,266. Commemorates the founding of New Rochelle in 1688 by French Huguenots. The land title was purchased from John Pell by the provision of a fattened calf every year on June 20. This scene is represented on the obverse. The fleur-de-lis, which is shown on the reverse is adapted from the seal of the city.
