USA, 1936 NORFOLK, Virginia, bicentennial commemorative silver half dollar. Brilliant, uncirculated.

In a slab by PCGS as MS66. Mintage was 16,936. Issued to provide funds for the celebration of Norfolk's anniversary of its growth from a township in 1682 to a royal borough in 1736. It commemorates the 300th anniversary of the original Norfolk land grant and the 200th anniversary for the establishment of the borough. The seal of the city of Norfolk is represented on the obverse. The royal mace of Norfolk presented by the Lt. Governor in 1753 is shown on the reverse.
