USA, 1936 BRIDGEPORT, Connecticut centennial commemorative silver half dollar. Brilliant, uncirculated.

In a slab by PCGS as MS65. Mintage was 25.015 all were issued. In commemoration of the one hundredth anniversary of the incorporation of the city of Bridgeport a special half dollar coin was authorized. It portrays P.T. Barnum, the man who said 'There's a sucker born every minute'. He is also credited with stimulating the growth of industry in the Bridgeport area, making possible its present reputation as the chief industrial city of Connecticut. On the reverse is a most modernistic eagle.
