USA, 1936 TEXAS INDEPENDENCE CENTENNIAL COMMEMORATIVE SILVER HALF DOLLAR. Brilliant, uncirculated.

In a slab by PCGS as MS66. Mintage was 8,911 The issue commemorates the independence of Texas in 1836. The first dates were offered in 1934. The later dates 1935-1938 were struck at all three mints. The reverse shows the kneeling figure of the winged Victory and on each side medallions of General Sam Houston and Stephen Austin founders of the Republic and State of Texas. The large five pointed star behind the eagle on the obverse carries out the Lone Star tradition.
