USA, 1921 ALABAMA CENTENNIAL SILVER HALF DOLLAR, 2x2. Lightly toned, uncirculated.

In a slab by NGC as MS65. Mintage approximately 30,000. The coins were authorized in the centennial year 1920 but were not struck before 1921. The two people represented on the obverse are William Wyatt Bibb Alabama's first Governor (1816-1820)] and Thomas E. Kilby, Governor of Alabama at the time of minting. The 22 stars refer to the fact that Alabama joined the Union as 22nd state. The reverse shows the dates 1819-1919, that one of the actual centennial, warlike eagles with shield and arrows but also an olive-branch for peace. Approx 60,000 coins in all were minted.
